El Grito de Independencia
El Grito is a historical event that happened in a small town of Dolores near Guanajuato, Mexico. It was the battle cry of the Mexican War of Independence, uttered on September 16, 1810, by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. Every year, Mexico celebrates its independence by reenacting the battle cry in the main square called el Zocalo located in Mexico City.
